Our ride picked us up at 4:45 AM this morning. Yes, 4:45 does come twice a day for those that only think there is a 4:45 PM. Bob & Cheryl Wright's son Matthew picked us up in his Hummer. What a nice ride. We took I-405 and we were at the airport in no time. The lines were not long at security but Ken & I each had 3 baskets to put our stuff in. I had to have my laptop in a separate basket and Ken had to have his C-Pap machine in a separate basket. Then there were the shoes, jackets, purse, medications, quart zip-lock bag with liquid items, etc. We had some breakfast and then I took a nap.

Our flight was on time and we were flying high. We flew Continental and they served breakfast: Cheerios, milk, banana and a muffin. I didn't think airlines did that anymore. It was a 4-hour flight. We were really surprised at how green Houston looked from the sky. I guess they get more rain than we do. Our Town Car driver was waiting for us at Baggage Claim and our luggage was one of the first to arrive.
It was a 30-minute ride from the airport to the Hospital. Houston is very flat. We could see the tall buildings when we got on the freeway at the airport. It would be like us seeing Seattle from Everett. We checked into our room.

We have already gone through a new patient orientation and I have gotten my schedule for tomorrow. I thought I would be starting at 8:00 AM but Registration is at 7:00 AM and my Doctor's appointment is at 8:00 AM. We walked over the skybridge to the Medical Building and found the bank of elevators that we need to take.
Everyone here is so nice and helpful. There was live music in the lobby this afternoon.
Here is the view from our room. The skybridge in the picture is the one that we walked over.
It is 5:00 PM and we will need to find someplace to eat dinner. They have free Shuttle Service within a 1-1/2 mile radius so we don't have to eat at the Restaurant here in the Hotel.
We will write more tomorrow when hopefully we know more.
Love you all.
Ken & Karen

Hi! I am so glad that you guys made it safely. It looks beautiful there. What a nice little place to sit and watch the fountain (at night when it is cool). Love you! Hope you sleep well tonight. Don't worry all night. Put your iPod phones in and listen to something soothing. Hugs and Kisses!

Sleep well tonight and "Don't worry about anything; instead PRAY about everything; tell God your needs and don't forget to thank Him for His answers. And the peace of God which passes all understanding will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" Phillipians 4:6-7 (L.B.)

We are praying for you-and also all the ladies in the Grandma's Prayer Group. We are believing for a miracle, God's wisdom, Divine intervention for you and God's peace for both you and Ken. We can do all things through Christ who strenthens us.
Thank you for your update. You are in our hearts and prayers. We know the Lord is with you. We appreciate your friendship and partnership with us in ministry. I was encouraged recently reading; "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" Rom. 8:31, 32

Hi K&K -
Glad you decided to write a blog - it will be wonderful to get your daily news and keep our prayers current and up-to-date. Sounds like it's gone well, and pray it will continue to do so. Your surroundings look very nice! I ditto Cheryl's scripture verse - can't improve on that! Love you both. Ric and Pat
